This weekend I finally hung my painted chevrons. I originally wanted to measure and tape out the whole thing but then only ended up taping the first row on each and free-handing the rest(ended up really liking the quirky uneven pattern!). I think I learned this is more my style anyways. I always drawn to really traditional shapes, patterns and styles but I like them with an unexpected arty twist. So creative project #1: DONE!

After watching this tutorial and seeing this pinned to Pinterest I decided I should give it a try. I've been meaning to go through and weed out some of the well-worn pieces from my wardrobe and this was finally a good excuse to do so. This was super simple and super FAST! So creative project #1 done!

Its wedding season! I love weddings, I love watching my friends and family celebrate, I love the pictures I get to take, and the unique details of each one. I also LOVE all the stationary that comes with weddings and it was one of my favorite parts of my own special day.
So I have been holding onto all the wedding invitations we've received and after going back to this book for some inspiration I decided to make a Wedding Book. This will be a small scrapbook that will house all the invites and photos in a simple format.
I started with my Uncle & Aunt's wedding in San Diego from last November:
I used the photo grids to get the most pictures per page and I (obviously) kept the decorative pieces pretty simple. I dont think the layouts will always be this simple but I like this start. Plus as a bonus its my 3rd of 26 layouts now done! Now to tackle the rest of that pile♥

I've been working on layouts and crossing numbers of my list.
Im determined to get a little "caught up"(if there is such a thing) with scrapping and printing photos. These were from 2005 so I think its time to shorten that gap!
I've noticed a reoccurring element that keeps popping up on my pages:
Hidden spaces! I've had more pictures, journaling, memorabilia, etc. going into the pages and while I love holding on to those things I still like my layouts fairly clean so I've been using flaps and envelopes to corral such items. Im totally hooked♥

Well the first 5 "new" recipes I've tried are:
Devils on Horse Back.......
Raspberry Lemon Cake .........
All of which we loved and all of which I plan to make again. It was fun looking for new recipes and I've tried looking in new places too. I picked up a few in my Cooking Light and Sunset magazines and of course my go-to: myrecipes.com. I have a feeling its not going to take long to get to my goal number 26!

This week I turned 26. It wasn't what I expected but maybe that made it even better. At the end of the night I started to think about what I'd like to do this next year and I started writing a list(I love a good list!) and I decided this list should be a part of this blog space. I've loved watching the short and long term goals on Elise's Blog, Ali's Blog, and Elsie's Blog; they always inspire me. So now I'm jumping in and blogging a few goals of my own:
Better get moving, I think its going to be a very busy year♥
